To re-upholster or not?

In short, YES! re-upholstering a piece of furniture you're looking to update or replace is a great way to revive what could be a piece of furniture such as a headboard, chair, sofa or footstool you may have. It is environmentally friendly by helping to keep old furniture out of landfill.

Although going down the path of re-upholstering may not be the most inexpensive option, here is outlook of why it really can be a great route to go down.

1. Sentimental value

Perhaps you've had an item passed down to you, a piece you bought in your first home, one thats moved country with you or even one you got for free on marketplace but simply just love! Maybe it's outdated or weathered but re-upholstering will make you fall in love with it all over again.

2. Bespoke

One of a kind. Your choice. Your taste. Just the colour and pattern you were looking for that you may not have found when buying new with limited ranges. It can be an excellent opportunity to express you and your family's style and personality: either you go for bright colours or bold patterns that grab your guests' attention or you will choose something neutral and calming style that will be perfect for your home's decorative pieces.

3. Helping a local workshop

Finding the right company, can really help a local and what could be family run business instead of purchasing mass produced items.

4. Environment

As mentioned earlier, this really does help keep old furniture out of landfill, you are going to use far less energy than a manufacturer would when making a new piece of furniture.
